Spring semester...

Two weeks back in Ireland and I figure it’s probably about time to start updating this thing more regularly again. Over the past few weeks nothing too exciting has happened… mostly just trying to settle back into the routine of school and readjust to living in another country.

Getting my classes set has been very frustrating this semester since none of them were pre-approved by the anthropology department back at UMD. I’m currently registered for: History of the Tudors, History of the Byzantine Empire, a class analyzing the validity of the story of King Arthur and the Holy Grail, and Political Anthropology. They all seem like they will be interesting enough, but the people at UMD who can approve the courses for me are taking FOREVER to get back to me on it! Hopefully they’ll get that all figured out soon… otherwise I’m in for a busy busy schedule next year trying to play catch-up on classes. Also still waiting on my grades from last semester… hopefully they’ll be released next week.

We hosted a pot-luck dinner to get to know the new CEA group for this semester. So far they seem like a good group… we’ll have 9 girls and 1 guy in total… still haven’t met one of the girls and noone has met the guy yet. We have a trip planned to the Cliffs of Mohr next week though so hopefully everyone will be able to make it to that.

Other than that, nothing new has been happening. Still trying to make some travel plans… going to see Beth (my roommate from UMD) in Prague, going to Edinbourgh, London, Belfast… Prague will be on my own but hopefully I’ll find some good travel companions for the other cities.

Readjusting is turning out to be a bit more difficult this semester than it was last semester. I think a big part of it is that my apartment still drives me insane, but I keep reminding myself that, if I can make it through these next few months, I can make it through pretty much anything. AND I have a lovely new house to move into next year!

Hopefully things will pick up soon and I’ll have more interesting things to post about!
